Frequently asked questions.

What are your leads and collars made from? Are they strong?

Absolutely!
All our leads and collars are crafted using premium materials such as Biothane®, rope, and reinforced hardware.
Biothane is waterproof, durable, mould-resistant and incredibly easy to clean — perfect for Scottish weather.

Our rope leads use high-quality PPM or nylon rope processed for strength and comfort.
Every item is handmade, tested, and inspired by our own wee dug, Odin — ensuring the quality is something we trust with our own pets.

Do you offer custom sizes or personalised orders?

Yes — fully!
We can make leads and collars to suit any dog, from tiny sausages to big daft dugs.
Custom options include:

  • Length

  • Width

  • Colour

  • Hardware finish

  • Name engraving

  • Contact details on tags

  • Optional safety handle or second grip

Just drop us a message or use the contact form and we’ll walk you through your perfect setup.

Typical turnaround times are:

  • Handmade Gear: 3–7 days

  • Treats & ready-made items: 1–2 days

  • Custom orders: 5–10 days depending on complexity

You’ll receive a dispatch email as soon as your order heads out.

Do you support charities with your products?

Yes — it’s a huge part of who we are.
We offer several special edition leads and collars, each inspired by a cause close to Scotland and close to home:

  • The Poppy Lead & Collar (Poppyscotland)

  • The Lifesaver Range (RNLI Arbroath)

  • The Mindful Range (SAMH)

  • The Wildwood Range (Trees for Life / Scottish Wildlife Trust)

  • The Helping Paw Range (Arbroath Community Support)

  • The Seabird Range (RSPB Scotland)

  • The Safe Paws Range (Scottish SPCA)

A portion of every sale goes directly to each charity, and donation totals are shared openly.

Are your treats natural and safe for all dogs?

Yes — we only stock treats we’d happily give our own wee dug, Odin.
Everything in the Wee Dug Treats Collection is:

  • 100% natural

  • Free from artificial colours & preservatives

  • Grain-free options available

  • Sourced from trusted UK suppliers

If your dog has allergies or sensitivities, just check the product ingredients or message us — we’re always happy to help.

What treats do you recommend for puppies?

For puppies, we suggest softer, easy-to-chew options such as:

  • Nibbles & trainers (small training treats)

  • Soft bites

  • Natural chews suitable for puppies

  • Low odour options

Avoid very hard chews such as antlers until adult teeth are fully developed.
We’re happy to guide you based on your pup’s age and breed.

Do you offer hypoallergenic or single-protein treats?

Absolutely.
We stock a wide range of single-protein and hypoallergenic treats such as:

  • Venison

  • Rabbit

  • Duck

  • Fish

  • Goat

  • Turkey

These are perfect for sensitive stomachs or elimination diets.

How should I store the treats once they arrive?

Natural treats store best in a cool, dry place.
Once opened, keep them in:

  • An airtight tub

  • A resealable pouch

  • A treat jar

For chews with natural oils (fish, yak chews, etc.), allow airflow rather than sealing completely to prevent moisture build-up.

If you buy in bulk, you can freeze many natural treats to keep them fresh longer.
